About Kevin Gledhill

Kevin Gledhill, Ph.D. is a Lecturer in the Department of History at Sacred Heart University. Prior to SHU, he taught at Yale University, Clark University and Quinnipiac University. His research focuses on the Caspian Sea and its role in connecting Eurasia from the seventeenth to nineteenth centuries. He is working on a monograph project that examines the intersection of trading networks, political ideology of regional elites, and diplomacy between the Volga River and the Alborz Mountains. He has begun a new project dealing with German Protestant missions on the Volga and in Iran in the eighteenth century. He has experience teaching global, European, Russian, Islamic, and Middle Eastern history, as well as advising undergraduate research in these fields. He was the founding host, producer, and editor of the Yale History Podcast in 2021.
