About Keevia Porter

Keevia Porter, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC is Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Sacred Heart University. Dr. Porter is a certified family and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She is skilled in both academic and clinical settings. Her clinical practice includes treating physical and mental health illnesses in children and adults. Dr. Porter's areas of interest include underserved populations, decreasing mental health stigmas, and social determinants of health. She is published in peer reviewed journals and medical books.

In 2022, Dr. Porter was the recipient of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women's President’s Award in Education.

Dr. Porter has an MSN in Nursing Administration from Union University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Public Health Nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
