American Library Association Annual Conference (2018)

Abstract
Many large corporations realize that investing in the career development of employees pays off. Is your library ready to develop your next leaders, reduce recruitment and onboarding costs, support diversity and inclusion, or foster employee engagement? Decide which of these outcomes you truly seek so that you can then implement and evaluate a program that aligns with your library's goals. This presentation includes best practices and one mid-sized academic library's experience with a career development program for library employees.
