About Kathy Reavy

Dr. Kathy Reavy has been teaching at the School of Nursing at Boise State University since 2000. Her educational background includes an associate degree in nursing from Schoolcraft College in Livonia, MI, and then a B.S. and M.S. in Nursing, and a Ph.D. from the College of Education, all from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Her doctoral study focus was on teaching and learning and her dissertation was titled "Service-Learning: A Case-Study Examining Positive and Negative Influences on Higher Education Faculty". Her areas of specialization include adult medical/surgical nursing, evidence-based practice in nursing, the history of women and history of nursing, maternal/child, neonatal, and pediatric nursing, pharmacology, physiology & pathophysiology, research methods, service-learning, and teaching & learning. Dr. Reavy is actively involved in teaching, service, and scholarship, and she is a frequent speaker and presenter with a growing portfolio of writings.
