Dr. Kathleen Watters has scholarly interests in political communication as well as in gender and communication. More recently, she has been developing scholarship in the area of communication ethics. Her research has been published in journals such as Critical Studies in Mass Communication and the Dictionary of Political Communication . She has contributed to the discipline through service on editorial boards for several journals, including Advancing Women in Leadership, Congressional Quarterly , and Press-Campaigns and Politics. Dr. Watters has also been an active contributor to the Women's Center at UD, and has provided service to support the Women's and Gender Studies program on campus, including teaching an introductory course for the Women's and Gender Studies major. In 2004, she was recognized with the UD Miryam Award.
