About Kathleen Morrison, D.H.Sc, ARRT (N), LNMT

Kathleen Morrison, DHSc, began her career as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) at Northwell’s LIJ in New Hyde Park. Dr. Morrison graduated from Manhattan College with an Associate in Applied Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology, then continuing her studies and obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Physics.

At LIJ, Dr. Morrison was a staff technologist and lead technologist in the radioimmunoassay laboratory, having studied under Dr. Roslyn Yalow (Physicist and Noble Peace Prize Winner in Radioimmunoassay) at the Bronx VA Hospital during her clinical training. Continuing her career in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Dr. Morrison worked at Northwell’s Huntington Hospital, focusing on excellence in patient care. Dr. Morrison obtained an MRI certificate from Long Island University (LIU) during this time.

Dr. Morrison began her career at Molloy College in 2003 as the Clinical Coordinator of the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program. While at Molloy, Dr. Morrison obtained an MS in Education from Molloy College, and a Doctor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University. As a tenured Assistant Professor at Molloy University, Dr. Morrison teaches patient Care in NMT and the Capstone Course in the NMT Program. Dr. Morrison has taught hybrid and online learning at Molloy since 2016.

From the early days of her 45-year career in NMT, Dr. Morrison has focused on Life-Long-Learning, Patient Care, and, more recently, Online Teaching and Learning. These topics reveal themselves in her didactic teaching and clinical supervision.

Finishing her doctorate just prior to the Covid outbreak Dr. Morrison completed her doctoral practicum with the Office Blended Learning at Molloy College. Allowing Dr. Morrison to help with the rapid transition to online learning at Molloy, assisting fellow professors in uploading courses, familiarizing them with online pedagogy, and navigating the online learning management system (CANVAS).

The core of Dr. Morrison’s educational philosophy aligns with Molloy University’s mission of service, spirituality, study, and community. This transformative philosophy is committed to academic excellence with respect and compassion for individuals.
