E-Literature as Public Art: ELO 2015's Five Gallery Shows
Hyperrhiz: Jounal of New Media (2016)
Abstract
This article makes the case for electronic literature as accessible public art, reviewing five gallery shows in Bergen, Norway in August 2015. Ample links, photographs, and video playthroughs illustrate the claim of accessibility in the following five shows: "Decentering: Global Electronic Literature," "Hybridity and Synaesthesia," "The Ends of Electronic Literature," "Kids' Electronic Literature" and "Interventions: Engaging the Body Politic." Live performances of e-literature are also reviewed.
