‘Respectful relationships are foundational’ is one of the guiding tenants of the KidsMatter Primary Initiative, which provides schools with proven methods, tools and support to address questions like the one titling this article that are so important in nurturing happy, balanced kids. KidsMatter is the Australian mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention initiative. As an intervention, KidsMatter acts to make the relationship been education and health explicit, by providing an educative framework to promote positive relationships and wellbeing, which further facilitates a cycle of improved educational and health outcomes for children.
