About Katherine Moran, DNP, RN, CDCES, FADCES, FNAP

Dr. Katherine Moran has been the Associate Dean for Graduate Nursing Programs and Associate Professor at Kirkhof College of Nursing since 2018. She has broad interprofessional experience caring for underserved populations with chronic disease as the co-owner of My Self-Management Team, Inc. Further, she is a national expert in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project and the co-author of an award-winning textbook, The DNP Project: A Framework for Success. She also has extensive experience providing consultation for graduate programs seeking to develop the DNP degree. Finally, she is the Principal Investigator and Co-PI for two Health Resources and Services Administration grants. The Advanced Nursing Education Workforce grant is a collaborative effort between GVSU, McLaren Health System, and Mercy Health Muskegon to educate nurse practitioner students to meet the healthcare needs of rural/underserved communities in Michigan. The Nursing Workforce Diversity grant is a collaborative effort between GVSU, McLaren Health System, and Spectrum Health to increase nursing education opportunities for nurses from disadvantaged backgrounds and to equip them to provide culturally aligned care and lead in healthcare systems that provide care for medically underserved areas in Michigan.
