About Karla Collins

Dr. Collins is an assistant professor in the School Librarianship program at Longwood University. She earned a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Old Dominion University. Before joining Longwood in 2012, she was a school librarian in elementary, middle, and high schools in Virginia. Dr. Collins' research interests include meeting the needs of all students in the school library setting. She is also interested in the instructional role of the school librarian and best practices in school librarianship.
