Proposal for Presentation

Exam wrappers are a type of within-course feedback that students may complete in proximity to a test. These tools were developed to improve student metacognition, but evidence for their effectiveness is mixed (LaCaille, LaCaille, & Maslowski, 2019; Soicher & Gurung, 2017). However, exam wrappers may also communicate instructor concern for student progress, allow for frequent status updates on students’ study habits, and guide within-course adjustments to grading and pedagogy. We present an example of an exam wrapper that involves tracking students’ study habits, predicted scores, perceptions of the test, and reflections on future actions to improve learning.
