Associate Professor of Fine Art, Painting & Drawing
Originally from Orlando, Florida, Kari’s obsession with painting clicked during art class in high school. She received degrees in English and Visual Art from Andrews University. After a year in a graduate program in FL, she moved back to Michigan to teach introductory drawing at Andrews University and worked as an editor. Kari teaches drawing and painting and is pursuing her MFA in Painting at Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids. Her artistic interests include the figure and portraiture with themes of the influence of media culture on personal identity and status. In her spare time, she enjoys working with youth and traveling.
