Proposal for Presentation

The third way (followership): The art of transforming an organization by empowering individuals at every level. Join us as we examine 2,000 year-old Biblical followership principles. The third way can provide solutions for modern leaders within healthcare, religious, and academic organizations. This session will provide you an opportunity to examine followership, contextualized to your own unique circumstance. In modern individualistic cultures, followership is often seen as secondary to leadership. There is abundant literature addressing the importance of the leader's role, while minimizing or excluding all-together, the reality of the importance of followership. While it is true the rise and fall of an organization is often a reflection of leadership, followership is correspondingly valuable. Additionally, followership is far from a passive act, in fact, it is a role that contributes significantly to a leader's success, or reveals leadership inadequacies. Well deployed followership defines movements, provides opportunity of advocacy, and can build bridges between fractured factions within an organization. Ultimately, followership is a fundamental ingredient for organizational success. Join us as we learn together!
