About Karen Cousins
Karen Cousins has been an undergraduate student, a graduate student, and a faculty member at UNF. Now she oversees undergraduate research opportunities across academic units (her dream job). She received her PhD from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada, developing expertise in historical inquiry and archival research, source analysis and interpretation, theory, method, writing, and revision – knowledge she is eager to share with UNF student researchers. Curious about practically everything, Dr. Cousins is a social and cultural historian of the early modern Spanish world. She has particular interests in ways people conceived of and understood the sacred and in the history of emotions, exploring these topics through interdisciplinary lenses. Dr. Cousins is also an Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of History.
