About Karem Alvarez, MD

Karem Alvarez, MD, is a board-certified OB-GYN in the Tampa Bay area. Dr. Alvarez was a four-year National Medical Fellowship scholarship recipient at New York Medical College and was selected to serve as chief resident while completing her residency at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies in Orlando. She has special interests in minimally-invasive gynecology, high-risk obstetrics, infertility, and adolescent gynecologic care. Dr. Alvarez is also certified to perform da Vinci robotic surgeries. Additionally, she was published in the International Journal of Adolescent Medicine and Health as a coauthor of research on barriers to adolescent contraception use and adherence. Dr. Alvarez is bilingual and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
