About Kamala Tamirisa, MD, FACC, FHRS

Dr. Tamirisa completed her training in Internal Medicine and served as Chief Resident at St. Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri. She then went on to complete her General Cardiology, Cardiac Electrophysiology, and Cardiac MRI fellowships at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. She subsequently joined a large cardiology group (ProMedica Physicians Cardiology). She was part of ProMedica Health System in Ohio where she served as the Director of the Arrhythmia clinic, ProMedica Heart Institute Board member & Heart Institute EP council member. While maintaining active cardiology practice, she took a lead in building bridges across physicians, staff and administration. She was also the Director of Education. Part of her role was to help with cardiology training of house staff to further The University of Toledo teaching affiliation with ProMedica.
Dr. Tamirisa’s special interests in Cardiac Electrophysiology include leadless technology, syncope, cardiac resynchronization therapy, advances in alternate site pacing & stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation.  She also has interest in ablation of SVT & atrial fibrillation (cryoablation & radiofrequency), defibrillation and pacing technologies.
