About Kali Simmons

Kali Simmons (Oglala Lakota) holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of California Riverside and she is currently an Assistant Professor of Indigenous Nations Studies at Portland State University. Her work examines depictions of North American Native peoples in film and literature with an emphasis on the genres of horror and speculative fiction. Her research has appeared in the Journal of Cinema and Media StudiesScience Fiction Film and Television, and on Vulture.com
