Abstract
Technologies are freeing faculty from the podium and allowing them to leave the front of the room.  More and more institutions are designing and creating active learning classrooms and flexible multipurpose spaces to accommodate all types of teaching styles.  In this session, we will cover some technologies available to untether faculty from the podium - wireless presentation tools, like Solstice and AppleTV, but also screen-sharing and student engagement apps and platforms.  We will also address the need for strong instructional and design principles that will help enhance these technologies and provide best practices in crafting a presentation that will resonate with learners and enhance the presenter’s delivery.
