About Judy Ramos

Judy Ramos joined the TLC faculty in May of 2023. She is passionate about empowering both pre-service and new teachers for the rigors of the classroom. Her goal is to deliver meaningful understanding and effective, research-based methods in the ever-changing field of literacy for her students. Her experience includes years of teaching in elementary/middle school classrooms, mentoring college students, and working as an educational consultant. Post-pandemic, she designed and directed an academic enrichment program through her local church called Young Scholars which provides literacy and math support for K-8 students. Judy's educational philosophy combines academic excellence with spiritual excellence. She believes there is no greater Teacher than Jesus, and no greater work than to point young people to Him.
Born and raised in Michigan, Judy is the daughter of immigrant parents from South Korea. She is married to Israel Ramos, who serves as the Director of Public Campus Ministry for the Michigan Conference. Together they have three strapping sons, Imanuel, Micah, and Titus. Their home is Grace Orchard, a 7 acre hobby farm, that includes a sometimes successful garden, neglected fruit trees, entitled pet chickens, and two hives of native honey bees.
