Abstract
In a world of outsourcing, off shoring, open sourcing, in sourcing, supply chaining and informing, is it any wonder American students must compete by learning at a higher academic level? In a world where Microsoft created a global computer interface and Netscape established a global undersea network, the competition for jobs exists with students from around the world.

How did the world get flattened so fast? Why must students learn to run faster and compete at a higher academic level? The answer is in the change the world experienced over a short period of time. India is an example of a country that benefited the most from this global change.
