About Joyre Thomas

Joyre Thomas has over twenty years of experience working in higher education in the state of Texas. Ms. Thomas currently is the Director of Retention of the Jesse H. Jones School of Business, at Texas Southern University. She creates and develops analysis of students' study habits and increase graduation rates. At Texas Southern University, she has shown exemplary work ethics and fortitude toward the organization. Ms. Thomas holds two degrees, both achieved at University of Phoenix, a Masters of Management degree in Human Resources and a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration. Ms. Thomas is also working on achieving her certification in PeopleSoft for Human Resources as well as her PHR (Professionals in Human Resources) and SPHR (Senior Professionals in Human Resources), to ensure she achieves her goal of becoming an Human Resources Director of a Fortune 500 company; but, she is not afraid to begin at bottom and work her way up to the top, within a Human Resources Department.
Ms. Thomas is also co-owner of an event coordinating, designing, décor’ and catering company, name Occasions Plus, with her family for the last ten years. Her major role within the company is to hire and supervise employees as needs for particular events, keep track of their time, rate of pay, and payroll. Ms. Thomas also shows her talents when it comes to décor and designing, along with playing a major role in the company’s website design.
