About Joy Cypher

My current research interests are three fold. First, I am expanding my background in teaching Health Communication and Communication Ethics to begin a research project on medical student education and its relationship to empathy and professionalism in the medical encounter. Second, I am continuing my scholarship in Disability Studies and Embodiment in popular culture. Finally, I am beginning my analysis of representations of healing modalities (alternative/complementary medicine, meditation, spirituality) within medical and public discourse.
