About Reischmann, Jost

Jost Reischmann, born 1943, was Chair of Andragogy at Bamberg University in Germany from 1993 until his retirement 2008.
He has extensively and in manifold international contexts presented, edited, and written about adult education in German and English, with nine books and more than 200 articles to his credit, including publications about Evaluation in Adult Education, Open Learning of Adults, and Comparative Adult Education.
Consultant and Trainer in Adult and Continuing Education and Human Resources Development with numerous organizations.
For 30 years he has partnered the international professional exchange between colleagues and institutions in more than 30 countries and actively supported the exchange of ideas and persons. He served as speaker and keynote-speaker at International Conferences in many countries (i.e. Brussels, Ljubljana, Belgrade, Helsinki, Budapest, Seoul, Prague, Los Angeles, Montreal, Atlantic City, Salt Lake City, Chicago, Milwaukee).
He was President of the International Society for Comparative Adult Education (ISCAE) from 1992 to 2008, after that Vice-president. In 1998 he received the ‘Presidents Award for Innovative Leadership’ and in 2006 the ‘Outstanding Service Award’ from the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education. In 1999 he was nominated and inducted in the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame, 2006-2012 he was Member of the Board of Directors.
