Abstract

The paper argues that an analysis of the language of feelings and emotions display the recognition by most that they are two distinct, though related, ideas. Emotions are related to the mind and have to do with an interpretation based reaction related to one’s investment in an event. Feelings are related to the body and have to do with the physical/chemical reactions to some sort of stimulus. Emotions can lead to feelings, but feelings may also be caused by other events. This relates to personhood and how animals, humans, and God can be said to possess or not to possess feelings and emotions.
