Foreign Investment: Revision of the Andean Foreign Investment Code

Abstract
On May 11, 1987, the Andean Common Market approved Decision
220 revising its foreign investment code. Decision 220 supersedes
Decision 24, which established a common regime for foreign investment
and che transfer of technology, patents, licenses, and trademarks
within che Andean subregion. While maintaining sorne of che basic
structure and principies of its predecessor, Decision 220 effectively
returns control of foreign investment to che constituent nacional
legislatures.
