Abstract
I have Clinical Depression, Chronic Anxiety, and Bipolar Disorder, this sometimes hinders me to leave from the house. This past week I had a hard time getting out but I looked to astrological sign to see what environments make me the happiest. It advised me that Cancers always prefer to be by water. Lucky for me, I live 3 blocks from Battery City Walkway which sites on the Hudson Bay. It was mid day and I chose to listen to Samba/Bossa Nova music. Samba always makes me feel like wind and water. It just flows so beautifully. As I sat there watching the row boats go by, I felt the sun. It was beautiful because the temperature was just right. The energy by the water helped me clear my head. The vibrations from other people enjoying their day also helped clear my mind. I had everything around me Earth, Air, Water, and Fire (metaphorically since I smoke). Ive been happy to do these entries because it is a time to talk about the Earth and what we take for granted. I really liked the article last week from the Swedish writer. Is it really ours to take? This city has a tendency in breaking people down and unfortunately I was already broken when I got here. I just remember the happiest I ever felt was either standing on top of The Pyramid of the Sun or on 4,555ft in the air on the Swiss Alps. I miss these places. It shows how grand earth is. . . New York is a metropolis of steel. Lucky that there are some outlets here but to really experience nature, I wish I could be elsewhere.
