About Jonathan Lassiter

Through qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research, my scholarship focuses on health equity with Black, LGBTQ, and other marginalized communities. My work is guided by the principles of cultural science and often includes community-based participatory research approaches. There are four main research areas that I am exploring: (a) biopsychosocial links between spirituality and health; (b) developing and testing mind-body health interventions for Black and LGB populations; (c) same-sex couples’ health; and (d) Afrocentric psychology. In addition to these main areas, I often collaborate with physicians and public health scientists on research projects related to health equity.
