Abstract
Anthony Penco (1813-1875), the Italian-born provincial superior (visitor) of Vincentians in the United States from 1850 to 1857, faced numerous challenges in the New World. His correspondence and contemporary notices help to fill out his largely unknown story. The richest in details is the sermon given at his funeral.
