Abstract
Vincent de Paul provided various systems for the Congregation of the Mission and the Daughters of Charity that would promote and guarantee their leadership. These were the admonitors, at all levels of leadership. In addition, he provided for spiritual directors and confessors. Consultors and advisors were also instituted. For the local communities, he provided for various meetings, and for individuals, he provided for traveling companions, following Jesuit practice. Modern constitutional changes spell out new ways of providing institutional and individual support. The rules of the admonitor in English translation conclude the study.
