Abstract
An account of the Tientsin Massacre of 1870, published anonymously by Jean Capy, a Vincentian missionary in China. Book One contains biographical notes on the martyrs: 10 Daughters of Charity from various countries, 2 Vincentians, one Chinese and the other French.
Because of its length, the work is presented in three, this being the first.
This is the first English translation of this classic volume.
