Vincentians in the Palatinate, the Mannheim manuscript.docx
(2020)
  • John E Rybolt
Abstract
A newly-uncovered manuscript from 1781 sheds light on the beginnings and the purpose of the foundation of the works of the Congregation of the Mission in the Palatinate. Its members, the Vincentians, were called to replace the Jesuits in their educational and pastoral works principally in Heidelberg and Mannheim. This manuscript was apparently copied from a pamphlet, now lost. The paper consists of an introduction, translation, and transcript of the French original. Two illustrations accompany the paper.
