Abstract
An English translation from French of volume 2 of Planchet's History of the Peking Mission. It deals specifically with the members of the Congregation of the Mission (Lazarists/Vincentians). Book One covers the years 1785 to 1838, with the closing of the Nantang Church. Book Two deals with the years 1835 to 1856, concluding with the division of the former diocese of Peking into separate vicariates, each with its bishop and clergy.
