The translation by the author of an unpublished study by Felix Contassot, CM (1966), consisting of extracts from the registers of the council of the superior general of the Congregation of the Mission, the Vincentians. Contassot selected entries from nine registers, covering 1835 to 1919.

A supplement volume follows in a separate work, covering registers nine through fourteen, 1917 to 1959.
