Abstract
A second-order conservative rezoning algorithm for generalized two-dimensional meshes has recently been described by Dukowicz and Kodis (SIAM J. Sci. Statist. Comput., in press). Here it is shown that this algorithm can be simplified by a different and more symmetrical choice of the flux vector F whose divergence is the cell density. The resulting formulation is the natural second-order generalization of the simplified first-order algorithm described earlier.
