In this paper, we describe our application of “problem-based learning” in the teaching of production and operations management. We describe a study of the effectiveness of this approach and present the results and analysis of this study. We provide a collection of our experiences in using this method and conclude with some general observations on its appropriateness to the teaching of production and operations management.
