Dr. John H. Bickford III is a former Mid-Prairie (IA) Middle School social studies teacher. He currently is a Professor of Social Studies Education at Eastern Illinois University. He teaches and has research interests in social studies education pedagogy, particularly history literacy, historical thinking, and historical argumentation.
