John Sawyer coordinates and provides leadership for Extension soil fertility and nutrient management programs to support production of agronomic crops in Iowa. Studies the chemistry of plant nutrients in soils, nutrient management, and implications of soil management related to soil fertility, tillage, and the environment. Conducts applied research related to efficient fertilizer use and nutrient, manure, and limestone management.
