Abstract
Manhattan: We are happy to see the editors apologize for their previous support of New York City’s racist and abusive stop and frisk practices (“Mike wakes up,” editorial, Nov. 17). The evidence was clear years before your belated 2016 apology. While you criticized the efforts of people like us, professors who study this issue and who spoke truth to power against the abusive tactic, the rights of countless minorities were violated. Try listening to experts in the field who scientifically study these issues and who vehemently and publicly objected to your position. As Patrick Lynch has stated about Bloomberg’s apology, we say the same to you — “Too little, too late.
