Presenter

Alex Erwin (FIU College of Law) presented his work Litigating Predator Hunting, this paper analyzes the lack of scientific support in state predator management, examines legal challenges against predator hunting laws, and underscores the need for a more robust public trust doctrine in wildlife conservation.

Caroline Corbin (UM School of Law) presented The Government Speech Doctrine Ate My Homework and Class: First Amendment Capture and Curriculum Bans, this paper analyzes laws in several states censoring public school curriculum topics, discusses their implications for student understanding and free speech, and proposes adjusting the government speech doctrine to counter unreviewable censorship.
