Barbara and Joel Halpern resided in Orasac Yugoslavia doing anthropological studies in Serbia. This books recounts their lives and what it was like for two young Americans in a Balkan peasant community and relates, in terms of our participation in every day goings on, attitudes and ethics, aspirations and human frailities.
