About Joel N. Lohr

I am originally from Canada. Prior to assuming my role at Pacific I was a postdoctoral fellow and visiting scholar at the University of Toronto; before that I spent 5 years in England completing my MA and PhD at Durham. My research interests are truly eclectic: Intercultural Competence and Diversity in Higher Education, Interreligous Dialogue, the Hebrew Bible, the so-called Abrahamic Traditions, and really any aspect of Higher Education, especially as related to diversity and student success. When I find time, I love to write and have a number of book projects underway. Some of my past books can be seen on Amazon. When not thinking or writing about higher education and religion, I like to listen to music, and am an avid, long-time Metallica fan. I also love spending time with my family, especially if we can find our way to a beach somewhere. I live near campus and walk or bike to work each day.
