Abstract
Till fabric and grain-size analysis of glacial diamictons present in areas dominated by ground moraine in eastern Plymouth County, eastern Massachusetts were used to interpret till types and to reconstruct the glacial paleoprocess history of this region. Sampled diamictons present in exposures in Manomet Point and Scituate present transitional to girdle fabrics, are generally composed of very poorly sorted coarse sands, and therefore are interpreted to be supraglacial melt-out tills (ablation tills). These are representative of minor glacial stability of the Cape Cod Bay Lobe in eastern Plymouth County followed by fast recession to the north after the Last Glacial Maximum.
