About J Michael Hunter

J. Michael Hunter is the Associate University Librarian for Public Services at the Harold B. Lee Library, Brigham Young University. Formerly, he held the positions of History Librarian, Mormon Studies Librarian, and Chair of the Religion / Family History Department in the Lee Library at BYU, as well as that of Reference Librarian at the Historical Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Salt Lake City. He holds BA, MLIS, and MPA degrees from Brigham Young University and an MA degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He has published numerous articles and books in the field of Mormon Studies and Utah history. His research interests are in the areas of Mormon history and biography, as well as Utah history and biography, and library history.
