About Jinling Liu

**Currently seeking motivated PhD students who are interested in data analytics, artificial intelligence or precision medicine to start Spring or Fall 2023. Fully-funded PhD positions_Liu Lab_Missouri S&T.pdf

Dr. Jinling Liu is Assistant Professor in the department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering and the department of Biological Sciences at Missouri S&T.Dr. Liu holds a Ph.D degree in Biology from the Pennsylvania State University as well as an MS degree in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Pittsburgh. Before joining Missouri S&T, Dr. Liu was a National Library of Medicine Postdoctoral Fellow in Biomedical Informatics. Dr. Liu has extensive experience in Big Data Analytics, Cloud-computing, Systems Biology, Multi-omics and Diseases, Bayesian Inference and Machine Learning techniques.

Dr. Liu's major research interest lies in modeling the rapidly-accumulating big data in biology and medicine for precision medicine. Her unique expertise in both biology and informatics not only allows her to identify interesting biomedical problems to model, but also helps build a better model with molecular-level biological understanding of the complex data. One main theme of her research is to infer from the multi-omics data the activation states of signaling pathways and utilize such information in precision medicine.

She is also collaborating with researchers in other domains (eg, ML-assisted alloy design) for Data Analyticsand Decision Making.

New Faculty 2019-2020; Investigator of Intelligent Systems Center, High Performance Computing Center, and Center for Biomedical Research.
