About Jill J. Deupi

Dr. Jill Deupi received her BA from Mt. Holyoke College, where she majored in Political Science and French Literature. She went on to complete a law degree, graduating summa cum laude from American University's Washington College of Law. Dr. Deupi was admitted to the Virginia State Bar prior to relocating to London, England. While in the UK, she worked at the Royal Academy of Arts, in addition to earning a Master's Degree in the history of art at the University of London's Birkbeck College. Dr. Deupi was awarded her Ph.D., with distinction, by the University of Virginia. A recipient of the two-year Marian and Andrew Heiskell/Samuel H. Kress Foundation Pre-Doctoral Rome Prize Fellowship, she wrote her doctoral dissertation on 18th-century Neapolitan art and cultural politics. Dr. Deupi's other honors include a Samuel H. Kress Foundation Travel Grant, a three-year President's Fellowship at the University of Virginia, election to the University of Virginia's Society of Fellows, honors degrees from both Birkbeck and Mt. Holyoke and, most recently, a History of Art Grant from the Kress Foundation. In addition to the Royal Academy of Arts, she has worked at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Snite Museum of Art, the National Gallery (Washington, D.C.), and the Wallace Collection.
