About Jikhan Jeong

Dr. Jikhan Jeong joined Missouri S&T in 2023 as Assistant Professor in the Economics department. He received the B.Sc. degree in chemical engineering from Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), Suwon, South Korea, in 2010, the M.Sc. degree in management science from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, South Korea, in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in economics from Washington State University (WSU), Pullman, WA, USA, in 2021.

Previously, he was a lithium-ion battery engineer with LG Chem, South Korea, in 2010. He was an associate research fellow (tenured) with the Management Research Institute, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), South Korea, from 2012 to 2021. He was a visiting assistant professor with the Data Science and Business Analytics department at Florida Polytechnic University (FPU), Lakeland, FL, USA, from 2021 to 2023. His research interests include digital economics, energy economics, fintech, applied econometrics, and computational economics using AI and Big-Data.
