Abstract
Carbon nanotube membranes due to atomically smooth inner cores and large van der Waals distance show remarkable 10,000 fold fluid flow enhancements.  This translates to ion induced electrosmotic flow that can be used for a variety of applications from bioseparations to drug delivery.
