Developing a Progress Monitoring Portfolio for Children in Early Childhood Special Education ProgramsTEACHING Exceptional Children (2014)
The article presents advice to early childhood special education teachers for developing a progress monitoring portfolio system. Introductory details are given discussing common uses and misuses of portfolios in student assessment. The process monitoring portfolio (PMP) model is defined and outlined, highlighting its utility for ongoing documentary assessment. Discussion is also given regarding the recognition and interpretation of indicators within the model.
