Mueller Puts a Stamp on It: Secret Letter to William Barr Overshadows AG's Congressional Testimony
The Takeaway (2019)
  • Jessica A Roth, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law
Abstract
The Attorney General is testifying before both houses of Congress this week. On Wednesday, William Barr is attending a hearing at the Senate Judiciary Committee, and on Thursday, he'll meet with the same committee in the House. Democratic lawmakers are eager to question him about his motivations behind the release of the Mueller report, especially as a secret letter from Robert Mueller was leaked on Wednesday morning, outlining the special counsel's concerns over how the Attorney General's summary of the report mischaracterized the key findings. Jessica Roth, professor at the Cardozo School of Law and a former federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, joins the program with analysis.
