About Jenny Strandberg

Jenny Strandberg, Ph.D. is a Lecturer of Philosophy in the College of Arts & Sciences at Sacred Heart University. She specializes in Ancient Greek and social and political philosophy and her research explores Plato’s political philosophy and its relevance for contemporary issues such as modern practices of self-governing.
In 2015, Dr. Stranberg received the Vivien Hartog Women’s and Gender Studies Best Graduate Instructor Award from Stony Brook University and in 2020 was recipient of the Individual Development Award from New York State/UUP Joint Labor-Management Committees.

Dr. Stranberg has a B.S. in Journalism and Science from Uppsala universitet and Göteborgs universitet in Sweden, a M.A. in Philosophy, graduate certificate in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Ph.D. in Philosophy from Stony Brook University.
